Bhadramas Krishnapaksha Ashtami Tithi Ki Raat
On the sacred night of Ashtami in the dark fortnight of the month of Bhadra,
Narayan Krishna Avatar Leke Aa Gaye
Lord Narayan appeared on earth in the divine form of Krishna.
Ghunghrale Baal Naache Pawan Ke Taal Par
With curly locks dancing to the rhythm of the wind,
Mand Mand Muskurate Mohan Padhare Hai
And with a soft, calm smile, the charming Mohan arrived.

Madhya Raatri Mein Prakhar Tejwan Bhagwan
In the deep silence of midnight, the radiant and powerful Lord appeared,
Mama Kansraj Ke Bandhan Tod Aa Gaye
And by breaking the chains of his uncle Kans, He came forth freely.
Yamuna Ki Lehron Se Gokul Mein Nand Ghar
Crossing the waves of the Yamuna, He reached Nand’s home in Gokul,
Anand Pradaan Kaaj Brij Mein Padhare Hai
And thus He arrived in Braj to spread joy and bless everyone.

Bhadra Maas Krishna Paksha Ashtami Tithi Ki Raat
Again, on the holy night of Ashtami in the month of Bhadra,
Narayan Krishna Avataar Leke Aa Gaye
Lord Narayan descended once more as Krishna.
Ghunghrale Baal Naache Pawan Ke Taal Par
His curly locks danced along with the gentle wind,
Mand Mand Muskurate Mohan Padhare Hai
while smiling softly, the beloved Mohan stepped into the world.

Madhya Raatri Mein Prakhar Tejwan Bhagwan
At midnight, the brilliantly radiant God revealed Himself,
Mama Kansraj Ke Bandhan Tod Aa Gaye
And after breaking Kans’s prison bonds, He emerged.
Yamuna Ki Lehron Se Gokul Mein Nand Ghar
Passing through the Yamuna’s flowing waves to Nand’s house in Gokul,
Anand Pradaan Kaaj Brij Mein Padhare Hai
He came to Braj with the purpose of giving happiness and peace.
